Fees, posting, refunds and how we look after young artists. Can’t find what you need? Email hello@craftacause.com.
To the organization running the campaign. Two fees come out of each sale, shown before you pay: Craft a Cause’s 3% platform fee and card processing by Stripe (about 2.9% + 30¢). At checkout you can choose to cover the processing fee, so up to 97% of the price reaches the organization.
See how fees work →No. You’re buying an original artwork, so it’s a purchase of goods rather than a charitable donation, and we don’t issue tax receipts. Ask your tax adviser if you’re unsure.
Each artwork is original work by a student or other creator in the campaign. The organization reviews and lists it, and chooses for each artwork whether it ships, can be picked up from the school, or both. Shipping is shown at checkout — a flat rate or a USPS price for your ZIP — and goes to the organization in full. Digital artworks are downloaded from your account after you pay — up to 10 times; after that, email us. We email you tracking when an artwork ships.
How it works →No. All sales are final: there are no refunds, returns or exchanges once your purchase is complete, because each artwork is one of a kind and the money goes to the cause. The only exception is one the law requires — if the organization can’t deliver your artwork at all, you can cancel that order before it ships for a full refund.
Our no-refund policy →WINWISHLLC* CRAFTCAUSE. WinWish LLC, doing business as Craft a Cause, collects the payment on behalf of the organization.
Buyers only ever see a creator’s first name, last initial and class. A parent or guardian consents before anything is listed, and for artists under 13 we verify that consent first. We never collect a child’s contact details or photo, and we don’t run analytics on children’s pages.
Children’s privacy →Ask for a private link at our parents and guardians page, using the email address our messages were sent to. From there you can take any unsold artwork down straight away, or delete the information we hold.
Parents and guardians →Apply with your organization’s details and an institutional email address. Set up payouts through Stripe, add your logo and a short description, and we approve you. Meanwhile invite your campaign managers and staff and start building campaigns — your managers approve each artwork and launch their campaigns themselves.
Start a campaign →Not yet. For now, campaigns are open only to schools, colleges and other organizations with an EIN (a U.S. Employer Identification Number). We plan to let individual artists raise funds in the future.
Who can start a campaign →Through Stripe, once the campaign has ended and each buyer has confirmed their artwork arrived. Every sale’s split is shown to the organization when it sets the price and again on the order.
Fees and payouts →You can delete your account at any time from Password and security in your account. For anything else, email hello@craftacause.com and we’ll get back to you.
